10 basic questions your business website should answer

A visitor who can't find a basic fact on your website, such as a price or your opening hours, has to call, write or leave. An AI chatbot has the same limit: it can only answer what your content says. Below are the ten basic questions that Sincra's Website check looks for in a business website, what counts as a real answer, and how to see which ones your own website covers.

What are the ten questions?

QuestionA real answer says
1What are your opening hours? The days and the times
2What areas do you serve? The towns, regions or countries, by name
3How much does it cost?A price, a price range or a starting price
4What payment methods do you accept? The methods, by name
5Can you help with an urgent request?Yes or no, and how fast
6How do I book or get started? The first step and where to take it
7Do you offer a guarantee or refunds? What is covered and for how long
8Are you licensed and insured?Which licence or insurance you hold
9Where are you located? An address, or that you work online only
10How can I contact you?A phone number, an email address or a form

Do all ten apply to my business?

No. Opening hours make little sense for software sold online, and a licence may not apply to a shop. The Website check leaves out the questions that don't fit your kind of business and doesn't count them, so your result can be "6 of 7" instead of "6 of 10".

What counts as an answer?

A sentence that answers the question, not one that only mentions the subject. "We offer competitive prices" mentions prices. "A standard visit costs $90" answers the question.

That is the rule the Website check applies: a question counts as answered only when it finds a passage in your content that answers it, and it shows you that passage. If it cannot find one, the question is listed as not found in what your assistant has read.

How do I check my own website?

  1. Create a Sincra account and enter your website address.
  2. Open Knowledge in the dashboard. The Website check lists each question as answered, with the passage it found, or as not found.
  3. For each one that is not found, add the page that has the answer, or write the answer yourself as a question and answer. The check runs again on its own when your content changes.

"Not found" is about the pages and files your assistant has read, not about your whole website. If the answer is on a page it has not read, add that page.

You can also do it by hand: open your website on a phone and try to find each answer in under a minute.

Are these the questions visitors ask most?

We don't claim that. They are basic questions for a business that serves customers, and a starting list. Your real list is in your inbox and your phone calls. Once the assistant is on your website, the Inbox in your dashboard keeps every conversation, so you can read what visitors ask and add the answers that are missing.

Why does this matter before adding a chatbot?

A chatbot that answers from your website repeats what your website says. If the price is not there, it has no price to give. Filling these gaps first means the assistant has something to say from the first day. The guide on how an AI chatbot answers from your own website content explains how that works.

What does the check cost?

The Website check comes with every Sincra account, before you choose a plan. It is not a trial of the chat on your website: the assistant goes live on your site once you choose a plan, from $29 a month for 500 responses.
